Unless you were one of the first people to ever sign up with myNetworkingPro when they started in 2004, you most likely got a ton of emails in your inbox those first few days. You may still be getting more than you can handle. So, what do you do with them? Do you answer them, ignore them, delete them?
Free members can only respond to 5 emails before they get tapped out. So, unless they are really creative, they have to somehow figure out which 5 to correspond with and then tastefully ignore the rest.
I will also admit that you probably got a lot of people sending you an email that said something to this effect: "Hello, welcome.....(puke) check out my website or look at my business." Yes, even in today's day and age when social networking has become the norm, people still lead with their business and not themselves. So, what do you do with those?
Well, there is a lot you can and should do and some stuff that you should not do.
To make this fun, let's discuss what you should not do with all those emails:
1. Don't delete them (you will lose a potentially good contact)
2. Don't ignore them (your inbox can only hold so much, and when new emails come in, the old ones get pushed into oblivion).
3. Don't respond to them in a group mail (I have seen a lot of people do this to try and decrease their inbox as quickly as possible and have turned a potential personal relationship into an impersonal blow off).
4. When you do send out group emails (and there is a specific time and place to do that), do not send a group email to the same people more than once or twice max with the same message or offer. This is a great way to piss off more people in a single email than outright personal insults. I have had to either personally ask people to take me off their list or set the system to ignore them because I was getting the same email day in and day out.
What should you do:
1. Respond to each and every email. If it's a simple hello, write hello back. If it's "hey, look at my business" then ask them to look at your business in return (while I would not condone the look at my business tactic to start a relationship, if someone sends me an email that asks me to look at their business, I just turn it around as an opportunity to do the same in return).
2. Add them as a personal contact. This will build up your contact list which will build up your opportunity to send more group emails and to get more emails to make more contacts with.
3. Read all your email from myNetworkingPro (they usually contain all sorts of important new features or updates to the system).
4. Develop a relationship with your upline and downline.
5. When you open an email, click on the person's profile and see if there is something that you can comment on of personal interest. You will also be able to see where they are located and what business they are promoting.
Keep in mind that myNetworkingPro is a social network. People like to do business with people they know, like and trust. So, when you build a relationship, you build a potential business partner.
