So, how do you effectively and efficiently advertise your opportunity on myNetworkingPro?
Here are some places and ideas on how to post your ad on myNetworkingPro to get the best results (bang for your buck):
1. YOUR PROFILE - this is probably the most obvious place. But, don't lead with your opportunity. Write about YOU first, then when you do introduce your opportunity, skip the marketing speech your upline taught you and write from your heart. Tell what makes you stand out as THE person people want to connect with and join under.
2. YOUR WEBSITE - if you don't currently have your site linked to your profile, go and enter it now. And, if you have more than one opportunity or web site that you want to post, either post a URL rotator, create a blog that lists all your web sites, or another system that puts all your URLs on one page (contact me if you want an idea of what I use).
3. CLASSIFIED ADS - whether you are a free or a paid member, you can post to the classified section and your classifieds will link back to your profile (so, it's like killing 2 birds with 1 stone in this case). I would normally say skip this one, but since it does link back to your profile, it's worth posting here.
4. FORUMS - you can always start a forum that can indirectly help your main business grow. If you have advice to offer others, people are going to join your forum, check out your profile and find out what you do.
5. NETWORKS - participate in them, get to know others. Create one that attracts people to want to join.
6. VIDEO - if you have a video floating around out in cyberspace, grab it and post it on myNetworkingPro. It will also link back to your profile and be on your profile if you list it under "my profile video" or "my tube" or "my movie."
7. YELLOW PAGES - you can get there from your "my profile" page under "edit yellow pages profile."
8. PIXEL ADS - honestly, skip this one. There are so many out there that getting a hit is going to be tough.
9. BLOG - there are over 4 million blogs in the system. Again, skip this one.
10. PRESS RELEASES - unless you are having an "in person" meeting or you have some new announcement that you just have to get out NOW, skip this. There are a lot of people posting press releases that are not newsworthy but blatant advertising. Once you have seen enough of those, you probably won't visit that section of myNetworkingPro often, which means others won't be visiting there either.
11. EVENTS - if you are hosting or promoting a LIVE event, company call, or training webinar, by all means post here. If not, people will just skip over your event and it would be a waste of your time to advertise here.
12. PREMIER ADVERTISING - those are the ads you see on the top and sides of some of the myNetworkingPro pages. Keep in mind that these ads are rotated among all the members of myNetworkingPro that post to them. You have only a short amount of space to write your ad here. So, if you are going to do it, you have to be clever, precise, and attention grabbing.
13. AUDIO - if you like the way you sound, add audio to your profile. People with speakers will hear your message. But, again, keep in mind what you say, how you say it, how you come across, etc. If you can't pull this off, don't do it, because it will hurt more than it will help. Same advice would go for video as well.
14. PERSONAL EMAILS - if you have the time to put into it, you can send out a personal email to another member. You can search for people that live close to you, people who compete with you, and more and then send out a personal email to them. Again, lead with the relationship and not your business. Get to know people before you talk about your opportunity. It takes a bit longer to do, but you will have much better results. Make is PERSONAL. Avoid the used car salesman pitch. You probably hate being pitched to, so why would you do that to others?
15. GROUP EMAILS - I have saved the best for last. Instead of just corresponding to one person at a time, you can now write an email to 60 people at one time, per day. However, like personal emails, avoid the used car salesman approach. It might work, but it's not the best way to go about it. I did this myself for a few years on myNetworkingPro and I probably missed out on a lot more signs up in my other businesses because I just came across wrong. Think about it. Do you sometimes feel like people are just out on myNetworkingPro to pitch their business and nothing else? Exactly. If you happen to get an email like this, don't get mad, don't delete it, but turn it around. If you are being pitched to, by all means pitch back. Tell them that you will be more than happy to look at their web site in exchange for looking at yours as well. And, don't leave a comment about their site (or even look at their site for that matter) until they have written back to you. This way, you can tell if they are looking for a contact or looking for an ATM machine. And back to that earlier comment about being pitched to. You probably hate being pitched to, so why would you do that to others? Instead, this is what you want to do.
- say hello
- thank them for being a contact of yours and how much you appreciate it
- ask them about themselves and their interests
- ask them what they like best about myNetworkingPro
- ask them for feedback on what they would change if they could about their own business
- let them know you are open for dialogue and ask them to write back
Once you have developed a relationship where you have exchanged a few emails, that will move you into the natural progression of talking about your business.
The people that write back to you are generally interested in conversing with you. The people that don't write back are not worth your time anyway.
16. LIVE FEED - you can post your opportunity here, but keep in mind that this is the live chat section and you might want to offer a tip or trick before just posting an ad for your business. Give people something that will want to make them click on your link other than "check out my business."
So, I hope that this has given you a few great ideas on how to market your main business on myNetworkingPro. Like any other social network, it takes time, it cannot be rushed. If people are quick to join you, then they will also be quick to leave you.
Until next time,
